PAN Member Wins Women’s Business Network Award

PAN member Jean Ellen Flohr was named the Service Person of the Year by the Women’s Business Network.
Jean Ellen owns Notary in your Neighborhood, providing notary services to the elderly and homebound in Allegheny County. She joined the Forest Hills chapter of the Women’s Business Network three years ago to make business connections and new friends.
Previously she worked for Lutheran Services Society for 10 years before starting her own business.

My comment is concerning the article about non-English speaking notaries (Montgomery County Sees Increase in Foreign-Language Speaking Notaries, Notary Notes May/June 2011). Highest Monetary Penalty Levied Against Notary by State

A Philadelphia notary accused of property fraud has been ordered to pay what could be the largest fine levied against a notary by the state.
In March, the Department of State assessed a civil penalty of $11,500 against Ivan H. Delgado who was accused of 23 separate instances where he failed to properly identify the persons appearing before him. [Read more...]
